Jake Fine

Condominium law is in Jake’s blood. Having worked at a condominium law firm since the age of 18 starting as a summer student, Jake has worked closely with leading lawyers in the industry, allowing him to gain experience beyond his years. Jake is ambitious resourceful and utilizes his experience to achieve his clients’ goals by using creative, straightforward and cost-effective solutions. The ever-changing nature of the industry and the prospect of being on the forefront of change is what motivates Jake. Jake’s practice spans many areas of condominium law, including both corporate and litigation matters. Jake has appeared before various levels of courts and administrative tribunals. Jake is an active member in the Canadian Condominium Institute and has written multiple articles for the CondoVoice Magazine. Prior to joining Lash Condo Law, Jake worked at a preeminent condominium law firm. He earned his Juris Doctor at Queen’s University Faculty of Law. Outside of the office, Jake enjoys travelling the world and immersing himself in the different cultures it has to offer.

Sally Thompson, M.Sc. P.Eng. LCCI

Sally is a professional engineer who has been practicing since 1990, helping condominiums with reserve fund studies and building restoration. She is a founder and Managing Principal of Synergy Partners Consulting Limited.  Sally’s passion is helping condominiums get on a solid financial footing. Having a properly funded reserve fund not only keeps a corporation on the right track financially and physically, but also helps avoid the inevitable wars and community upheaval that arise when there is too much work to be done and too little money to do it. Sally is a frequent presenter and author. Sally is an active volunteer in the condominium industry, she focusses her volunteer activities in two areas: educating the condominium industry; and influencing government to improve the Condominium Act to better protect Ontario condominium owners.

Yasmeen Nurmohamed, RCM, CMCA

Yasmeen Nurmohamed is the President of Royale Grande Property Management Ltd, an ACMO 2000 and ISO 9001:2015 certified bespoke condominium management company. Based in Toronto, Royale Grande is committed to building vibrant and engaged condominium communities for a more inspired way of living. Yasmeen has over 25 years of experience in managing condominium communities, is an instructor for the Condominium Management and Administration courses, has written articles for various condominium publications, and is a founding Director and current Treasurer of CAI Canada.

Darla Ahmeti

Darla Ahmeti currently serves as a Senior Condominium Manager with Melbourne Property Management, tasked with opening a new flagship community that is committed to a low carbon footprint in Richmond Hill. In this role, Darla is able to mentor upcoming mangers, assist in creating best practices, policies and procedures of the company and ensure a high level of service is delivered to Melbourne clients and the community she serves. In previous roles in her Condominium Management career, Darla has been a Regional Manager for Duka Property Management, and FirstService Residential. Darla holds an RCM designation and has over a decade of experience in the Ontario condominium management market. Darla enjoys educating, supporting, and guiding managers and board members through the plethora of condominium-related legal, financial, physical building and administrative issues. Darla’s passion to help, educate and improve, makes her an ideal CAI President and contributor.

Danielle Gaudette

Danielle Gaudette has a vested interest in improving condo community living from both an owner and board of directors perspectives. She is a skilled business strategist, innovation driven and a creative thinker. Danielle has foundational multi-industry and cross border expertise. Presently she serves as a sales and marketing communications consultant. Danielle has proven success building substantial enterprise value, managing start-ups from inception to stability, with accelerating growth and profitability.

Mark Hopkins, BBA (Hons)

Mark Hopkins is the President of FirstService Residential where he leads the Ontario organization while supporting a team of more than 900 associates providing professional services to over 350 managed communities. He previously was in the positions of Vice President, Operations and Senior Vice President within FirstService Residential. In 2017, Mark was appointed to the inaugural Board of Directors of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) Canada Chapter where he served as Board President in 2020. He currently remains as a Board Director of CAI Canada. Prior to joining FirstService Residential in 2013, Mark held several leadership roles during a nine-year tenure at Cintas Corporation, a global leader in uniforms and facility services. For over 15 years, Mark has sat in senior leadership roles with North American-wide, industry-leading and rapidly growing organizations. Mark is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University (Honours BBA) and currently resides in Oakville with his wife and two children. When not spending quality time with his family and travelling, Mark enjoys cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Raptors and the Miami Dolphins.

Michael is a founding member of CAI Canada and has served on the board of directors since 2017. In his professional life Michael serves as the Owner/CEO of Royale Grande Property Management.

Shawn Pulver, the founder and principal of Pulver on Condos, is a leading practitioner in the areas of condominium law, condominium litigation and real estate litigation. He also advises condominium boards and owners on governance and enforcement issues.

Sam Soltani, P. ENG

Sam Soltani is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in the engineering and consulting fields. As the founder and president of Trace Consulting Group Ltd. (TCG) since its inception in 2015 and Trace Fire Group Ltd. (TFG) as of 2022, Sam has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in managing all aspects of day-to-day operations for both companies. As a LEED certified professional engineer and designated consultant by PEO, Sam has been instrumental in successfully leading and consulting on numerous high-scale projects across a wide range of industries, including multi-residential, commercial, retail, and industrial sectors. With his wealth of knowledge and hands-on approach, he has proven to be a valuable asset to his clients. He regularly volunteers his services to various committees and boards, ensuring that he remains at the forefront of the industry and continues to provide valuable insights and contributions. In 2022, Sam was honored to be included in the prestigious list of the top 100 Canadian professionals, a recognition of his exceptional skills and contributions to his field.
