Industry leaders came together to create the first Canadian chapter of the Community Association Institute, the largest international membership organization with more than 34,000 members to bring an internal conversation to Canada.
CAI Canada was formed to represent the interests of condominium/strata’s managers and highlight the positive impact the communities we manage to have on our great cities across Canada.

Denise Lash, LLB, B.Sc, ACCI, FCCI
Denise Lash is a condominium lawyer with over 25 years of experience practicing at the firm of Lash Condo Law. Denise is one of the founding directors of CAI Canada. Denise has been qualified as an expert in condominium law in the Ontario Courts and is past Vice President of the Canadian Condominium Institute (Toronto), Chair of the council for the Condominium Management Standards for Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario, Director of Resilient Communities Ontario (RCO), CCI Tarion Advisory Committee, Toronto Atmospheric Fund’s TowerWise Energy Efficiency Committee, Ministry of Consumer Services Expert Panel on Condominium Manager Qualifications.

Roger Thompson, MBA, BACS, OCT, LEED AP
Roger is a founding director of CAI Canada and Executive Vice President of FirstService while serving in many key roles throughout the organization over 10 years. Roger is a prolific public speaker on a wide variety of topics within the real estate services industry, with focus on sustainability. Roger achieved the LEED GA, and LEED AP designation from the US and Canadian Green Building Council. In addition, he holds his Ontario College of Teachers Certification and currently teaches Business Sustainability at a Canadian University. Roger is actively involved in the Ontario Condominium Act reform work, and is petitioning to ensure future condominium manager education is accessible.

Vanessa Van Dette, CPM, RCM, CRP, ACoM, AIHM, LEED GA
Vanessa Van Dette is Regional Vice President of Operations at Larlyn Property Management Ltd, an AMO Accredited Management Organization, ACMO 2000 Certified and an ISO 9001:2008 certified property management company. ,Vanessa brings over 25+ years experience in the field, she possesses solid leadership and management skills with the ability to build, lead and inspire high performance teams. Vanessa is known for developing successful partnerships with communities, while providing superior customer service and conflict resolution. She is confident and highly motivated with positive and collaborative approach to working with others. Vanessa is currently pursuing her MBA with a specialty stream in Real Estate Management and is an active member in the community currently serving on the Board of Directors for Resilient Communities Ontario (RCO), as well as the Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC) and Toronto 2030 District and is a founding Director of CAI Canada. She brings education and experience and is driven by a passion to achieve exceptional results.

Shawn Pulver, LLB, BA Honours
Shawn is a litigation partner at Macdonald Sager Manis LLP and one of the founding Directors of CAI Canada. Shawn is an experienced litigator, with a diverse practice focusing on condominium, real estate and business disputes. Shawn is also a frequent speaker and writer on various real estate and condominium related issues. Shawn has a thriving condominium corporation practice, and advises condominium boards and owners on condominium governance issues relating to the Ontario Condominium Act. Shawn also has significant experience advising clients on the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act and disputes relating to condominium deficiencies and shared facilities disputes.

Yasmeen Nurmohamed, RCM
Yasmeen Nurmohamed is the President of Royale Grande Property Management Ltd, an ACMO 2000 an ISO 9001:2008 certified property management company. Based in Toronto, Royale Grande is committed to building vibrant and engaged condominium communities for a more inspired way of living. Yasmeen has over 20 years experience in managing condominium communities, is an instructor for the Condominium Management and Administration courses, has written articles for various condominium publications, and is a founding Director of CAI Canada.

Michael Le Page, RCM
Michael Le Page is President of Maple Ridge Community Management, an Associa Company. With 35+ years in the industry, Michael has served as a moderator for the ACMO/CCI Conference and on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Condominium Managers (NACM), as an RCM Instructor and is a member of the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO). Michael is regarded as an industry expert, author of numerous industry-related articles and sought after speaker. Michael received the ACMO Industry Leader of the Year Award (2016) and the Alumni of Distinction Award, Mohawk College, Business Achievement (2011). Michael volunteered for the City of Brampton Property Standards Committee for 14 years, and for over 10 years coached hockey and later served as league Vice President for the Brampton Youth Hockey Association and is one of the founding Directors of CAI Canada.

Michael Kalisperas, RCM
Michael Kalisperas has been managing condominium communities for over 20 years and is the CEO and Owner of Royale Grande Property Management Ltd, an ACMO 2000 and ISO 9001:2008 certified property management company. Michael has been a speaker at the ACMO/CCI Condominium Conference and is a founding Director of CAI Canada. In addition, he served on the Finance Working Group and Condominium Management Working Group Stage 2 for Bill 106, Protecting Condominium Owners Act helping to shape and improve condominium living for years to come.
